In a tough year for fundraising, Dan Siroker got over 1,000 offers to invest in his startup Rewind AI's Series A — several at a $1B valuation. What's even more impressive is that Rewind conducted the whole fundraise in public, via a viral Twitter post, a pitchdeck posted to YouTube (complete with financials) and a Google form.
On this episode of World of DaaS, Dan and I discuss how Rewind raised its Series A in public, and how it benefited the company. Dan shares insights on creating a compelling pitch and the importance of practicing through meetings with investors.
Dan also discusses the challenges and opportunities in building screenless wearable devices, and what the future of AI wearables might look like. We explore how wearable AI tech could affect cancel culture, transparency, and surveillance. We also touch on Dan’s advice for parent founders and his thoughts on conventional wisdom and advice.
